Le Mans 24 Arcade

Le Mans 24 is unique among Sega racing games in that the races occur in real-time, with 24 in-game hours equivalent to roughly 10 minutes. Players have a limited amount of time to complete the 24 hour race and can earn extra time by passing other cars or completing a lap of the track. Likewise, being passed by another car subtracts time from the timer. If the timer runs out, the race continues even if there are no players. The player can choose to insert another credit and continue where s/he left off. Up to 3 twin cabinets can be linked to allow 6 player competition. Le Mans 24 is much more realistic than other racing games of its era, with periods of rain affecting how the cars handle, simulated tire wear, and a day/night cycle. Players can choose up to six cars, all which have been pulled out from the actual 24 Hours of Le Mans races (due to the latest cars that are fast in nature and the evolution of much dynamic and faster prototypes, cars like these have actually no chance of entering Le Mans today) but still exists in other races today. The game featured six cars: Grand Tourers Nismo GT-R LM (1995-1996) Best acceleration of all the cars, but most suitable for beginners. Ferrari F40 GTE (1996) Returning from Scud Race, the most characteristic handling feature of this car is its easily-controlled four-wheel drift. Easy to drive. McLaren F1 (1996) Also returning from Scud Race, the McLaren F1 is the best balanced car, enabling the player to really get the best from its driving experience. Porsche 911 GT1 the former two having better traction while the latter two balances grip and speed. A well-balanced supercar overall with high top speed. Look out for those corners! Sauber C9 (1989) A high performance racer particularly suited to the expert player. The Merc is fast if driven skillfully. Mazda 787B (1991) The most difficult car to drive well, but when it is, it is the fastest of the 6 default cars. Sonic the Hedgehog also makes apperances as a secret racer. Sega's mascot drive a low-poly buggy. This car handles like the Mazda 787B, and its driver changes from Sonic to a rabbit (and back again) each time the car enters a pit stop. To unlock this car, highlight the Nismo R33 at the car selection screen. While turning the wheel to the left and pressing the brake, hold down the start and V.R. 1+3 buttons, then step on the gas. Porsche 917K (the game's True Final Boss) The fastest vehicle in the game, the 917K is a rival car that the player races against if s/he manages to complete an entire 24 hour race. The Porsche 917K cannot be selected normally, but can be unlocked with a secret button combination. This car can be unlocked using the same procedure to unlock Sonic, but this time, hold down the V.R. 1+2 buttons instead of V.R. 1+3. Although the game focuses on the famed track, Circuit de la Sarthe (albeit scaled down), the game lets you choose other tracks. The Endurance mode lets you take the pavement of Circuit de la Sarthe along with the 24-Hour race format. The sprint modes lets you take either the Circuit de la Sarthe or a fictional city course along with a couple of laps against others. Despite having classes in the actual race, however, the game has absolutely no classification whatsoever. Players choose their car of choice and proceed to play their best in order to achieve podium finish. As the game progresses, weather changes and traction can deteriorate over time, which requires players to pit when prompted. Also, time can be awarded if: The player overtakes a car. 8 (3 for lapped cars)note seconds will be awarded per car overtake. However, any car that overtakes the player sucks away 8 (3) seconds from the time limit per car that overtakes the player. The player last for 6 hours in-game. The player will be awarded 12 seconds per 6 "hours" they last in-game. The player can receive a total of 36 seconds after 18 "hours" in-game. The player completes a full lap. Completing a full lap grants the player an extra 30 seconds in the time limit. Facebook:   / insertcoinarcadeofficial   Email: [email protected] Twitter:   / insertcoinarcad
