This is the first time my mom is visiting us in Kerala from Finland. She had visited India once earlier, but that was a tour of North India. While we were spending most of our time at home, we also wanted to show my mom the natural beauty that Kerala is known for as God's own country. So after spending a few weeks at our house in Payyanur, we decided to drive to a nearby hill resort in Paithalmala, which is the highest point in Kannur district. It was one of the most exotic experiences my mom has ever had. She loved all the nature, food, animals, waterfalls and a great Ayurvedic massage! Annika, as usual was toddlering around, talking to all the animals and insects and keeping us busy and entertained.
