Arutperunjothi Agaval by Prabhakar | Phoenix Melodies | Prabhakar devotional Songs

Arutperunjothi Agaval which contains 1596 lines, one of the literary form in Tamil was written by Ramalinga Swamigal popularly known as Thiru Arutprakasa Vallalar in the year 18-04-1872 @ Mettukuppam Siddhivalagam. Thiru Arutprakasa Vallar was born to Ramayya and Chinnammayar in the year 05-10-1823 @ Maruthur. During his lifetime he stayed at Chennai, Karunkuzhi, Vadalur and Mettukuppam. He started Sanmarga Sangam in the year 1865 (Society for pure truth in universal self-hood), Sathya Dharma Salai in 1867 (free food for all without any distinctions) Sathya Gnana Sabha in year 25-01-1872 @ Vadalur, it was open to people of all caste, only vegetarians are allowed to enter the temple. The oil lamp lit by him is kept burning till now. The entire sabha is bounded by a chain with 21600 links (no joints found in each link) said to represent 21600 inhalations by a normal human being. He said path of intelligence is Jeeva Karunyam. As a Great Poet he composed poems Thiruarutpa - Six Thiru Muraigal (universal love and peace). He has written Manumurai Kanda Vasagam and Jeevakarunya ozhukkam. He became Arutperunjothi in the year 30-01-1874 at Siddhivalagam, Mettukuppam. The room is opened at 12.00 AM on the second day of Thai Poosam (January - Febraury). Devotees can have the room darshan through the window till 6.00 PM Vallalar started Jyothi Darshan on Thai Poosam (January - Febraury) at Sathya Gnana Sabha in the year 1872. This is devotionaly celebrated every year. Only on this day devotees can have the darshan of Jothi by removing all the seven curtains (black, blue, green, red, golden, white and multicolour) at 6.30am, 10.00am, 1.00pm, 7.00pm, 10.00pm and 5.30am on the next morning. There is a mirror in front of the curtain. The Jothi could be seen thru the mirror when the curtains are removed, saying man could see the light in him if he removes the seven bad traits in him. During Monthly Poosam star three such darshan shown at 8.00pm removing only six curtains.
