RUPIN PASS TREK | The World of Madhu Sharma The Rupin Pass trek is a 7-days trek through the beautiful and scenic mountains of Himachal. During the trek you also come across remote and traditional villages of Himachal. During the entire trek till you cross the Rupin Pass, you have the Rupin river on your side throughout the trail. The trail takes you through hanging villages, pine tree forests, meadows, snow bridges, glacial valleys and many waterfalls. The trek is not only very beautiful but also a very challenging one. Day 2 - The trek starts from Jiskun where the base camp is located at a height of 7630 ft. From Jiskun you trek to Jakha (8755 ft) which is a hanging village. The trail descends down into a valley and you come across the Rupin River. The campsite is very beautiful and is surrounded by mountains on all sides. Day 4 - The Trek from Saruwas Thatch to Dhanderas Thatch (11700 ft) is a very beautiful trek. The Dhanderas Thatch campsite is also referred to as the Lower Waterfall campsite, where you camp by the Rupin River at the base of the roaring 1500 ft Rupin Waterfall. Day 5 - The Trek from Dhanderas Thatch to Upper Waterfall campsite (13275 ft) is a continuous ascent of the 1500 ft Rupin Waterfall where you trek on snow bridges and edgy rocky mountains. Day 6 - This is the toughest day of the trek with steep ascents through snowfields of rocky beds to the Rupin Pass which is at a height of 15250 ft and then you descend to the Ronti Gad campsite (12000 ft). The climb to the pass through the Rupin Gully is referred to The Summit. It is quite dangerous as it is very steep and you have to be aware of falling rocks. Day 7 - On the last day you have to trek from Ronti Gad to Sangla (8660 ft). The day's trek involves a steep descent all the way. It is a very picturesque day as you trek through the lush grasslands of Sangla. The trek ends at Sangla and you drive back the same day to Shimla. #rupinpaas #shimla #himalayas #himachal #himachalpradesh #rupinriver #mountains #kinnerkailash #trekking #trekkingindia #incredibleindia #hikking #hike #hikingadventures #mountain #chanshalpass #saruwasthatch #jiskunvillage #jhakavillage #hangingvillage #dhanderasthatch #sanglavalley #rontigad #baspariver
