Composed by: Ludwig Minkus Choreography by: Marius Petipa ABOUT THE MUSIC CENTER'S SPOTLIGHT GRAND FINALE The Music Center's Spotlight Grand Finale features an evening of unforgettable performances by our 14 Spotlight Grand Prize Finalists at The Music Center's Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. Join us to celebrate the culmination of a multi-faceted year-long journey by these incredibly talented high school artists who are part of the Spotlight program. 00:00 Introduction by Francine Kessler Lavac 00:13 Interview with Chase Rogers 03:07 Chase Rogers performs "Fantaisie" by Philippe Gaubert ABOUT CHASE ROGERS Chase Rogers, 18, is a senior at California Preparatory Academy and has been dancing since he was 9 years old. Chase trains at the San Francisco Ballet School, under the direction of Patrick Armand, with Pascal Molat. Awards include: Spotlight Honorable Mention (2021) and YoungArts Finalist (2022). He has also trained with American Ballet Theatre (ABT), Ballet West, and Dmitri Kulev Classical Ballet Academy. Chase thanks his parents for their constant support helping him navigate through life. He also thanks his teachers Amanda Cobb and Julie Binowtiz for their guidance. Chase has performed in leading children’s roles with ABT productions and student roles in San Francisco Ballet’s The Nutcracker, Giselle, and Cinderella. Chase plans to dance professionally next year with Tulsa Ballet II. This is Chase’s second year participating in Spotlight. ABOUT SPOTLIGHT Much more than a competition, Spotlight provides performing arts scholarships and artistic development to empower high school students by emphasizing preparation, courage, critical thinking and perseverance while providing an invaluable opportunity for students to hone their skills! Southern California High School students of ALL skill levels are encouraged to apply for FREE. $100,000 in cash scholarships are awarded each year to students along with personalized feedback, eligibility for mastery classes with world-renowned artists and more! Categories include Acting, Ballet, Classical Instrumental, Classical Voice, Dance, Contemporary Instrumental Music and Non-Classical Voice.
