Utility Kilt front apron snaps: What are they for? - UT Kilts

So, what are those snaps for? You see them on lots of kilts and I do get questions about them quite often. While they do sometimes add some aesthetics to the kilt, most of the time they are functional. While our ultimate utility kilts here: https://www.utkilts.com/ultimate-util... do not have functional snaps (there is pocket under neath that prevents that), all the other utility kilts that we have that do have the front apron snaps are functional. https://www.utkilts.com/utility-kilt/ The main reason for these is to keep the kilt down when you are in a windy area. Now, if a major wind comes in nothing is going to stop it from blowing up. However, the snaps can help if it is breezy or windy. The one thing you have to be careful of is not to snap them when you don't need it. Snapping them up puts pressure in the hip area and can cause your kilt to wear out prematurely. This is especially true if you have a kilt not sewn or constructed properly like a UT Kilt. So always remember to leave those un-snapped unless you need them so as not to expose certain areas of your self to others.
