Arunachal Pradesh - Episode 1 - Guwahati to Shergaon

This is part 1 of our Arunachal Series covering Tawang Circuit in a span of 8 days. We flew to Guwahati from Bangalore and from there covered our Arunachal Tour by taxi. This is the route we took along with the number of nights we stayed: Guwahati -- Shergaon [1N] -- Dirang [2N] -- Tawang [3N] -- Bomdila [1N] -- Guwahati [1N] Month of Travel: October End - November Beginning In this part covering day 1, we started our trip from Guwahati around 9am in the morning and reached Shergaon at around 7pm. The journey took the whole day as we had to take a longer route due to landslide in the Rupa-Shergaon route. Otherwise, keep at least 6-7 hours for this journey. On the way, we only took break for lunch, then stopped for ILP check at Bhalukpong check post and then a little stop at Tippi to take in the views. We decided to skip other sightseeing points on the way and also by the time we reached Lumum Falls it was starting to get dark. So we decided to cover it on the day of return. Prerequisite: You will need an Inner Line Permit (ILP) to visit Arunachal Pradesh. Apply ILP online and keep the permit ready before your visit since it is convenient this way. ILP costs Rs 100 per person and comes within 24 hours. Keep a printed copy of ILP with you on the journey. ILP is checked at the entry points to Arunachal, such as Bhalukpong or Balemu check post depending on the route taken. You can apply ILP online through this link: https://arunachalilp.com/index.jsp Stay in Shergaon: Tulip Valley Home Stay Found the place cost effective and hosts very friendly. Paid 2800 for the night including taxes and breakfast. Dinner was charged Rs 300 per person for non veg meal.
