Arunachal Pradesh - Episode 2 - Shergaon to Dirang

This is part 2 of our Arunachal Series covering Tawang Circuit in a span of 8 days. We flew to Guwahati from Bangalore and from there covered our Arunachal Tour by taxi. This is the route we took along with the number of nights we stayed: Guwahati -- Shergaon [1N] -- Dirang [2N] -- Tawang [3N] -- Bomdila [1N] -- Guwahati [1N] Month of Travel: October End - November Beginning In this part covering day 2, we visited some places in Shergaon and then proceeded to Dirang. Our night stay was in Dirang. In Shergaon, we visited the Lower Monastery, then Zengbu Gompa (a 200 year old monastery perched on the hill), Choskorong Waterfall and Buddha Heritage Park. Except Buddha Heritage Park, all other points in Shergaon are located closely. Buddha Park is approx. 45 mins drive from Shergaon in Mushakshing Village. For visiting Choskorong Waterfall, you can take your car till the Farm and then cover the rest of the distance (takes 10 mins) by a short trek or more like walk. But if you park your vehicle by the main road, the walking distance is longer and takes almost 30 mins. This is a pretty simple walk with scenic views all around, except the last stretch which has a steep slope to get down. We stayed on the vantage point overlooking the waterfall and did not get down in to the water as the path was too risky. Dirang Stay: TDL Monastery Guest House Loved the tranquility of the place and the spiritual vibes. Sitting by the monastery at night and meditating was an experience like no other. Also, the monastery looked magical at night. Rooms were very comfortable, clean and spacious and had an attached bathroom with geyser.
