Training Hall Archives: Roma Cup 2020

4 days of training hall footage from the 2020 Roma Cup in Rome, Italy in late January - early February. A slightly different deload, as we intended on doing powers instead of full lifts at this competition and "training through" it rather than a full taper and peak. So we worked on powers the entire week to really dial those in. 4 days out: Right from the airport to the training hall, just some light movements to shake off the 15+ hour travel. Focus on good movements, speed and just getting through it even though it almost always feels VERY strange. (The what day is it? Where am I? What time is it? International travel feels) 3 days out: Slightly heavier, the first "real" training session. Normally we would be tapering down rather than ramping up at this point, but this was a very different meet than normal. Around 80% for both lifts. 2 days out: Even heavier than before, trying to get a feel on things with a more adjusted body after travel has worn off. Opener day for this meet, so around 90% for both lifts with some other heavier things to follow. 1 day out: Quick, snappy and LIGHT. The lightest day so far, focusing on just moving around with excellent technique. Nothing should feel heavy or hard on this day, EVER. Somewhere around 60-65%.
