After enjoying a wonderful meal from the seafood restaurant in Udupi (Thimmappa), we decided to travel a bit towards Gokarna for trying chicken ghee roast and Kundapura chicken. On our way to Kundapura, we stopped by Latha Vegetarian Hotel at Koti and had our breakfast. Breakfast was of Konkini style - purely vegetarian. Most of the dishes were completely new to me. I loved the spicy sannapolo a lot. For lunch, we reached Shetty Lunch Home in Kundapura. Lunch was a lavish affair with several non-vegetarian dishes. Later I was also informed that the origin of Ghee Roast is from Shetty Lunch Home in Kundapura. Kundapura Chicken Curry is also special here. But this is not just in the restaurant but in the entire place. A unique combination of ghee rice with chicken white curry also suited my taste buds very well. Rajendra and his friend Guruprasad were wonderful companions on this food trip. അങ്ങനെ ഉഡുപ്പി രുചികൾ ആസ്വദിക്കുന്നതിനിടയിൽ ഒരു പുതിയ രുചി കൂടെ ... അല്ലെ കുറച്ചു പുതിയ രുചികൾ കൂടെ. അന്ന് രാവിലെ ഞങ്ങൾ കുന്താപുരം എന്ന സ്ഥലത്തേയ്ക്ക് പോവുന്ന വഴി നല്ല കൊങ്കിണി രുചികൾ കഴിച്ചു തുടങ്ങി ഞങ്ങളുടെ യാത്ര. പ്രഭാത ഭക്ഷണം വെജിറ്റേറിയൻ ആയപ്പോ ഉച്ച ഭക്ഷണം ചിക്കനും മീനും ഒക്കെയായി. ചിക്കൻ ഗീ റോസ്ട് തന്നെ ഷെട്ടി ലഞ്ച് ഹോമിൽ ആണ് ആദ്യം ഉണ്ടാക്കിയത് എന്നാണു പറയപ്പെടുന്നത്. ചിക്കൻ ഗീ റോയ്സ്റ്റും കുന്താപുരം ചിക്കനും അന്നത്തെ ഉച്ചഭക്ഷണത്തിന്റെ പ്രധാന വിഭവങ്ങളായി.
