The Police – Reggatta de Blanc (FYYC’s Extended Remix) Now that The Police, especially Sting actually, persist in their refusal (or rather fear, I guess) of making that highly sought after new material, we - the loyal fans - have to get that job done. So take a moment for this refreshed version of the titlesong of Reggatta de Blanc. Don't be fooled by the live video images. This is a studio version remix, no live audio shreds were used in this remix. As far as I know it’s the first real remix of the song. Originally intended as an instrumental part in the middle of ‘Can’t stand losing you’, but somewhere between april and june 1978 chopped out of the first version, and re-recorded on Reggatta in 1979. In july ’79 they still referred to it as ‘Can’t stand losing you, the bit we left out’. Definately the track we used to go nuts on collectively, at the time...
