An UNDERWATER CITY In COLOMBIA - Guatape and El Peñol | How To See It In One Day! In this video we take a two hour tour bus from Medellin to Guatape. We chose to do a tour because we had just one day left in this region and wanted to squeeze everything in without having to figure out logistics ourselves. We started the tour off with a boat ride to explore the Peñol Guatape Reservoir which sits on top of the original city of El Peñol. After a group tour style lunch we got on to the tour of the city of Guatape which was really colorful and interesting, we wished we’d had longer to relax in this little place and wished we could stay for a night or two. Finally we made our way over to the famous La Piedra del Peñol or Guatape rock to climb to the top and take in the views of the waterways that now cover the old town of El Peñol. It’s such a unique place with the positioning of the rock right next to the reservoir giving a perfect view of what was once a bustling place and now completely underwater all that can be seen is a cross from a church.
