Aerial Hoop / Lyra Rolls: 5 types of dynamic single-leg rolls

Five types of single-leg dynamic rolls on the Lyra / Aerial Hoop: 1) Assisted Mill Wheels - using strength (higher hand-grip; keeping both legs straight, pull up with hands while pressing down with back of thigh to complete the circle - can be done very slowly and with control) 2) Unassisted Mill Wheels - using gravity/ momentum (more difficult, and also much faster! Hands start low - directly by hips, wrists facing forwards. Lift bodyweight up and forwards, while maintaining a plank shape; keep both legs straight, and 'snap' them together as you accelerate into the swing. Try not to pike (bend in the middle) and KEEP YOUR LEGS STRAIGHT!!! 3) Birdie Rolls - the easiest type of roll, but requires shift in hand placement each time, making it less smooth/ satisfying as a continuous roll :) 4) Forwards Single-Skinners - much trickier than continuous birdie rolls as you have to really work to get your chest over the bar each time - without the assistance of a higher hand grip! 5) Backwards Single-Skinners - the temptation with these is to try and lift your chest up as you come round, but this will kill your momentum! Try to keep your torso TUCKED as much as possible you circle round, and instead of lifting your chest, focus on pushing your free leg down towards the floor.. this helps continue the direction of travel/ momentum so that you complete the full circle :)
