FASTEST and FUNNEST MTB Trail In Kamloops BC!! "Rio" 4K

I've been riding this trail as long as I've been riding bikes! Located about a 20min pedal from my house this has always been the go-to for solo rides, therapy rides, fitness rides - any kind of good time on a bike can be satiated from this amazing trail! It's an unsanctioned trail- and so over the years sections have eroded, rutted, been re-built and torn down, and entirely re-routed in some places. The locals who have kept this trail running well over the years are a blessing to Kamloops MTB because it's truly one of the best trails around. There is many freeride lines, loamers, connecting paths, alternate routes, etc- but no matter how you find your way down that hill it's always a good time. Remember to look before you leap on the jumps and beware the private property! I hope this trail lasts forever because it's a staple of Kamloops MTB style. I did totally forget to record one of the best sections, my camera was being funny and I CBA to go get a replacement clip. I just rode a freeride line on my way home to make up for it, the section that I missed is reminiscent because it's steep AF with tons of different lines w/ different difficulties to choose from. Perhaps the mystery is worth checking out the trail for yourselves one day... With the coming cold and dry conditions I want to try to film as much as I can before winter so I have some videos to put up, but with lots else happening I've found it tough to find the motivation. I still ride a lot, but filming takes another level of thinking that some days i just aint vibing with. Plus 90% of that time I'm just riding busser douglass anyways which doesnt need a bunch more videos. Maybe a trail walk at some point could be fun but who knows! Maybe also, some sweet ski content once the snow flies- we will see! 0:00 - Intro 0:25 - Blue Flag (steep and raw fall line freeride) 1:25 - Upper Rio (super fast & big floaty jumps) 2:53 - Rio (classic gully section - highspeed and pretty colours) 4:54 - Realizing I forgot to film freeride section + drop to make up for it 5:35 - Lower Rio (low grade, fast + tight singletrack) My bike is the 2022 We Are One Arrival, 150mm travel w/ Push Industries coil shock. This bike is bombproof and descends just as good as it climbs (which is really damn good btw). The frame and rims were hand-built in Kamloops which is my home town- and the rims were laid up by me as I worked there for about 2 years. I've been riding bikes since I was a kid and grew up in BMX racing, DH racing, watching freeride movies and going to events like Crankworx with my family. Needless to say, bikes are kind of everything to me. Glad I can start to share this world of mine with others, and begin to improve my editing and video making skills - I've wanted to do something like this for a long time now and I'm more than excited to see what the future brings!
