Where giants are buried | Penrith Cumbria | UK walking tour

A peaceful and relaxing walk in the snow in the market town of Penrith in Cumbria, in the north of England - home of the giant’s grave! It’s Sunday morning, the church bells are ringing and there’s very little in the way of crowds or traffic 👍 On the way we take a quick look at the old schoolhouse and a couple of churches, then into the churchyard for a good look around at the graveyard in the snow. Then we go into town, passing the town hall on the way. Down a little side street and passing some lovely old sandstone houses, we eventually get to another churchyard - St Andrew’s in the centre of town. Walking around this square we see more old buildings, and then the mysterious and fascinating giant’s grave. Into the centre of town for a look at the clock tower and the fine buildings around the square, then down another side lane or two, until we reach the bandstand, before we return to the clock square.
