Aizawl City: You won't believe the ASTONISHING places we found in Mizoram!

Aizawl is perched on hills that offer a mesmerizing panorama of valleys and vibrant landscapes. Known for its unique blend of tradition and modernity, Aizawl city is characterized by colourful local markets, where traditional Mizo handloom and handicrafts find their place. Correction: Mizoram achieved full statehood in 1987 and not 1984 as I mentioned in the video. This was a slip of tongue from my side. I recently spent a few days exploring the largely underexplored part of Northeast India - Mizoram, and today’s film is about Mizoram’s capital Aizawl. These were some of the most memorable days of my travels in recent times and this mini-series is an ode to my great time in the state! The state is characterized by its terraced paddy fields, dense forests, and unique Mizo cuisine, featuring bamboo shoots and local herbs. I spent Christmas in the city and got to experience a completely unique local culture of the big feast the day after the festival. The church in my neighbourhood invited us for the feast and I just can’t thank them enough for it. The celebration is quite different from what I’ve experienced before around Christmas!
