Halit Celebcigil was born in Ankara, Türkiye on August 8, 1921. For ten years, he worked as an interpreter/ translator for the American Government in Türkiye. He was a passionate audiophile, and also worked as a sales representative for Technics/ Panasonic for the military market. He built his own speakers for a hobby. He loved Jazz music from the 40s and 50s. He was a non-traditional house husband taking care of me. He also taught me how to cook and use the Elna sewing machine pictured in this video when I was 11, which inspired me to want to become a fashion designer that year. He walked 3 miles a day, up until he fell into dementia at the age of 89. He died on September 2, 2014 in Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA.
