This spirit of service, of helping others by following the Savior, is at the core of Christian belief and practice. The words and music to the song “I’m Trying to Be Like Jesus” were written in 1980 by Janice Kapp Perry, a prolific songwriter and, later, a member of The Tabernacle Choir. This arrangement is by the renowned Utah-based musician Dr. Barlow Bradford, who was serving as Associate Director of The Tabernacle Choir when this recording was made.
