My favorite Strat MOD | Passive Mid Control (Part 1)

Going over my favorite Stratocaster Mod, the Passive Midrange Control from Andy Rothstein... Andy has this pot available in various types, for use in different guitar setups. The pot I have in this Strat has a center detent indicating where the neutral position is. The one I'm using in the Strat for this video is this one (follow link above and scroll down thru the options): RG500D Custom Taper "Orange" Midrange Shaper with Center Detent (for Guitar) If you have a guitar with only one tone pot, you can get it in a push pull pot (so you don't lose your typical high end roll off options). In this version, when the pot is down (normal position) it will give the high end roll off, like a typical tone pot. When you pull the pot up it will give you the Mid Scoop without the high end roll off. THERE IS ONE DIFFERENCE between the pot I'm showing off in this video and the push/pull version. The push/pull version doesn't have the additive side of the pot. It only does the mid scoop. No boost. If the pot is in the up position and set to 10, there's no scoop happening. But as you turn it down, it begins to scoop more and more mids. This does give you more control over the scoop compared to the pot I'm showing in this video. The pot in this video only scoops between 1 and 5, so it's a bit more sensitive based on how much you move it. I have the push/pill version in my Telecaster and my Novo Serus T.
