Lake Atitlán is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Guatemala. It was voted one of the Seven Wonders of Central America by Imaginative Traveller. Lake Atitlan is Central America's deepest lake and was formed by a volcanic eruption approximately 84,000 years ago. There are over 10 different towns surrounding the lake. Some of them are named after the apostles of Jesus. Any day we can be out on the water is a good day. But what really leveled up our 24 hours was experiencing the peaceful lake while on the water as well as observing the lake from the mirador. The early morning kayaking on the calm lake, while looking up at the volcanos, was a combination we will never forget.
