The future we wanted for Afghan women | Nilofar Ayoubi | TEDxWarsawWomen

About the 2021 changes in Afghanistan and the situation of women. Nilofar is telling about her childhood, activism and her route to Poland. She shares stories of Afghan women and how we can help them. Nilofar Ayoubi is an Afghan activist, journalist, entrepreneur and philanthropist. She fled Kabul after the Taliban took power in August, 2021. She coordinates protests in Afghanistan remotely, being in touch with hundreds of the Afghan women. In June 2020, she set up a network, Afghanistan Women's Political Participation Network (WPPN) open to all women. This is where they can share political and social concerns. Today, Nilofar is based in Poland and she organizes daily group discussions with women who are still in Afghanistan, trying to motivate them and focus on the younger generation who are having an even harder time. She managed to evacuate from Afghanistan a group of 32 women along with their families, and is still working on evacuating more.
