Clay had worked there in better days but he was now in the area and wanted to see his old friend and owner of the town, George Spahn. The Spahn Ranch was way off the beaten path. Now, it was overrun by a gang of young male and female kids and adults calling themselves a Family. Some were shoeless, most were dirty and, as the Moore’s were to find out later, deadly. Just weeks before the August 9, 1969, murders of Sharon Tate and others, Clay and Dawn had wandered in to their camp. Dawn shares her memories of the incident that became a terrifying sequence in Quentin Tarantino’s brilliant 9th film, ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD (2019). Dawn Moore also talks about her Father getting replaced as TV’s most famous masked man and, later, of having his iconic Lone Ranger mask taken away from him.
