In this demo video, you’ll learn how to set up Multi-Dimensional Quoting (MDQ) in Salesforce CPQ in two easy steps. With MDQ, you can easily set up your subscription products with independent quantities and pricing on a monthly, quarterly, or yearly basis. Or, to learn more about CPQ & Billing, take our Admin trail: https://sfdc.co/cpqadmin Video Transcription: With multidimensional quoting, or MDQ, Salesforce CPQ makes it easy to demonstrate independent quantities and pricing for subscription products on a monthly, quarterly, or yearly basis. Let's take a look! For this video we will use the term segment to define an indepentment unit of time such as quarter, month, year, or custom. Here, a monthly subscription product is set up with a yearly price dimension on a 3-year contract. Clicking the Quick Action next to the Product segments this out into different years. In this case, there are 3 segments because the quote has a 3-year subscription term. Now you can look at the product details across the contract term and change the quantity or add a discount for the different years. This is a great way to handle ramped quantities or yearly uplifts or discounts. A separate quoteline will be generated for each of these segments, allowing flexibility in reporting and forecasting. Here are 2 simple steps to set up Multidimensional Quoting with Salesforce CPQ. First, create a product's price dimension. Navigate to the product object, and select the product you would like to add a price dimension to. Find the Price Dimension related list, and click new. Then, define the dimension. Give your dimension a Name and choose it's type. This determines whether your pricing will be segmented by years, quarters, or months. You can also allow your sales reps to create their own custom segments for the product during the quoting process. This means they choose their own start and end dates for each segment through the contract term. Once you have made your selections, click save. By allowing you to create and define price dimensions for your products, Salesforce CPQ makes it easy to quote your subscription products across any dimension you choose.
