Harry Syed says: “Vader killing random civilians like whatevs and then just letting obi-wan escape and Reva live after she tried to kill him.” Obviously, the number one reason why he left Reva alive was so she could go scour the shire and give Ben some hope for the future [clip]. And to probably set up her own spinoff. But, Vader sparing her makes sense within the show. For Reva's entire life, Vader has been using her. The moment she joined the inquisitors, he recognized her. [did you think I wouldn;t know you youngling]. So he’s always known that she wanted revenge, but he kept her around anyways–because she was never a threat to him. He saw her as someone he could use and throw away. [you are of no further use] As for Reva, we don;t really see where Vader stabbed her. It's a wide shot. It could have been a wound that missed vital organs, and the blade cauterized the wound so she wouldn;t bleed out. But also, the show is better if she lives and we get a final scene with her. J Pollocks Number 5 on twitter asks: If Vader is so all powerful and can detect people at other times (ANH) Reva etc. - how can he not even know his kids are about? In Kenobi and ANH Leia is in his presence When DOES he find out he has them? Great question, and I have actual answers. First of all, Vder does not know his kids are alive. He thought they died with Padme [no, she was alive]. So he would never look at Leia and think, “Oh she’s the spitting image of Padme, I bet that’s my daughter.” In fact, a person who looks like Padme would make Vader want to AVOID thinking about the babies, because the memory is too painful.” In a new hope. Vader goes on a mission to discover who destroyed the Death Star, and Boba Fett tracks down a name: Skywalker. That’s when Vader realizes the emperor lied to him about Padme [in your anger…] Vader is pissed when he realizes this, and then decides to overthrow the Emperor, which is why he makes this offer to Luke [join me…] Burt Macklin 70 asks, “Also wouldn't the empire come down on alderaan after seeing Leia associating with the path?” Now that is interesting. Reva researched Bail and Obi Wan’s relationship, and exploited it by kidnapping Leia. So essentially, she revealed that Bail organa knew how to contact at least one Jedi Master. I think they didn’t go after Bail Organa for 2 reasons. One, the Imperial senate is still a governing body that the emperor needs to control the systems. It’s not gone for another 7 years. So Vail organa would have a lot of political influence, and would be useful to the Empire. Plus, there is no actual proof linking Baila and the Jedi. When you get into the canon novels, you see that evidence and protocol were very important within the empire. But the main reason they didn;t come down on Alderaan is because the emperor said not to [feelings are clear]. Vader’s pursuit of Ben Kenobi was about getting revenge for Anakin. And the emperor doesn;t want Vader to do anything on Anakin’s behalf, because Anakin is dead. Palpatine believes that the few Jedi remaining could not possibly threaten his big, bad Death Star. Dynasty Dopamine asks, “I can handle all these. I just want to know why Tala, an experienced soldier, stands in the middle of the hallway without cover while engaging in a gunfight.” Just watch the scene again. There is one point where she is standing next to some cover. But she stands her ground because her objective is to take down as many stormtroopers as she can, not to protect herself. Then they’re slowly forced back the corridor, away from any cover. She doesn’t go for cover because she’s there to be a shield between the refugees and the empire.
