The Book of Boba Fett Finale brought so many story threads to a head: The Mandalorian, Grogu, the Mods, the rancor, the Pykes, Cad Bane and Krsstan all face off in an epic showdown. But there were a lot of questions that fans still want answered. Why did Luke make Grogu choose? Why did the show take a break for 2 episodes to check in with a different show? Why do the Pykes run spice through Tatooine, and how exactly do the shields work on these battle droids. We answer all these questions in this video, addressing canon stories from the original trilogy, novels, comics, Clone Wars, Rebels, prequel trilogy and novels. A lot. A very detailed question comes from Bee-N, who says: Those two Scorpenek droids should have totalled the whole city with ease….look at some of the wookieepedia notes on them: "... a single annihilator droid took out three of the four platoons of clone troopers that had been advancing on the shielded factory." "A single annihilator could decimate a dozen AT-TEs and make them nothing more than smoking husks" All right, I’m going to lead off with the nerdiest response of all time, but Wookieepedia is an independent fan site. If it doesn;t come from Star Wars dot com, then it’s not canon. Plus, the books quoted on the scorpene annihilator page are all books that aren't canon anymore, after Disney bought Lucasfilm. And, even if they were in canon, let’s just say that these droids are older, they’re from the clone wars, and the Pykes don’t necessarily have the parts and tools to keep the factory efficient. If anything, we should be happy that we’re getting to see exactly how powerful these droids are in canon. They’re way more powerful than droid destroyers we saw in the prequels. In fact, they’re so powerful that a lot of people asked why the Empire didn’t just use droids. Even the dark troopers we saw in season 2 of the Mandalorian were way more efficient than stormtroopers. Well, it all comes down to cost. Remember the death star, Palpatine’s pet project since the attack of the clones?Even the death star was in competition for funding with Thrawn’s tie defenders. There’s also a big discussion about this in the bad batch, as the empire transitions away from clones to conscripts, because of cost Elite Nosferatu on twitter says so everyone is shooting at the big droid the whole time it’s shields up. Why once the shield is down, does everyone just stop shooting and only watch the rancor do all the fighting. Even when the rancor is struggling, no one helps out. Well Elite Nosferatu, it’s really easy to judge combat when you’re not right in the shit, isn’t it? You never know what you’ll do in the heat of battle, when your boss is riding a giant monster that’s fighting a giant robot. For one thing, shields absorb energy, and can become overloaded. So the more you shoot a shield, the more you weaken it. So there’s no harm in shooting the darn thing. Pabs had a really good point: Din says weapons too fast, droid shields. So Why did they all not just walk through the shield and then attack it? Why didn't Din just walk through, and THEN use his Dark Saber? Well, that’s exactly what he does. When the battle droid transfers all its power to the front, to fend off the rancor, Din goes around the back. The reason they didn't just do this from the beginning is that the shields are too powerful. I think being smaller means they also have a greater surface tension. Like the Gungan shields were so big, they were great at dissipating energy, but the droids could walk straight through. Pabs also asks “Why did no one think to roll a grenade into the shield of the attack droids.” In fact there is an episode of the clone wars where the Jedi teach Saw Gurerrea and other partisans how to roll thermal detonators into the force field, just perfectly. #BookOfBobaFett #PlotHoles #StarWars 0:00 Battle Droids and Droid Soldiers 6:04 Big battle & How Fast Wookies Heal 9:40 Rancor 10:50 Spice and Tatooine Plot Holes 12:15 Yoda’s Lightsaber, the Hutt Twins, and Cobb Vanth 13:40 Cad Bane, Fennec Shand, and Omega from Bad Batch 16:14 Why Fight Pykes in Mos Espa 18:17 The Mistakes of Luke’s Jedi Order
