A slight exaggeration since I have been interested in MMVs for years before I even made my first one, but my love for the horror/romance manga, "Aono-kun" has been something else. I think thanks to RICE I can now say I officially got 10 folks to read it (which my goal was totally to try and entice more readers, so a win in my book) It really walks the line between those two genres well, making you genuinely root for these crazy kids while being painfully aware of how their history of abuse and trauma is haunting them even now Even though I got obsessed last June it took a while for an edit to manifest for two reasons 1) finding the right song that could match its specific tone and 2) figuring out if my tech skills were up to snuff. For 1 I figured FATM would match the vibe so I did a lot of digging in their back catalog (the repeated use of the word "hold" was just icing on the cake) For 2 I considered toying with its Live Action adaption first, but even though it is a pretty good adaption, it only covers the first 2.5 volumes and I found it lost some of the visceral imagery with the jump in medium. Thankfully Daze's manga IC from around the time was like mmv bootcamp for me, so I felt I had just enough skills and passion to go ahead and try my best And yeah not sure what else to say. For all the extra work mmvs are super satisfying in the level of control they give you. I am really happy to have made this, been cooking for a long time so it is like my baby, and I just am glad that the rest of y'all enjoy it too.
