Here's a guide on building some magnetic transport trays from scratch, using a minimum of tools. These are cheap and readily modular, can be used as a storage system at home, and don't require a separate pre-deployment tray. For mass-battle games like 40K or Age of Sigmar, you can stack the bins as needed, while for skirmish systems like Warmachine, Infinity, or Kill Team, you can likely fit all the models you need into a single bin. How secure the models are to the bins depends entirely on what magnets you use on their bases, so feel free to adjust my recommendations to suit your personal preference.
