Weighted, Magnetized Bases For Any Miniature

Most of us know the old trick of gluing a penny into a plastic model's base to add weight, but with slotted bases (or any other base with stuff on the underside, like in my beach basing tutorial) this can be a bit trickier. I also like magnetizing my bases so that I can use magnetic transport rather than relying on foam. It makes transporting larger models, particularly ones with lots of fragile parts, a lot easier. So here's a way to address both requirements at once. This will work with pretty much any style of base with a hollow in the bottom, including all the ones Games Workshop produces, but also bases meant for Warmachine or Infinity. If you're dealing with solid bases like MDF discs, you might need to get creative. Materials needed: -1g split lead fishing weights/sinkers (Note: #7 size tin sinkers provide a non-toxic alternative, if you're concerned about handling lead) -Putty (Kneadatite AKA Green Stuff) -Superglue -Pliers -Magnets (I use 3x2mm neodymium discs for 25mm or 32mm bases, and 5x2mm for anything larger)
