If you are making your own decor for your wedding, watch this video. I’ll share how to successfully hand off all your decor plans to someone so that it is set up just how you want. So here is how to delegate for success with it comes to your wedding decor DIY in 5 straightforward steps: 1. Designate a decorator! Find someone in your circle or a friend of a friend that is good with problem-solving and ask them to decorate for you. If you have a day of coordinator or an event manager, ask if this is covered in their package (oftentimes it is not!). If it’s not, make sure your coordinator has the name and phone number of your decorator friend or friends. 2. Set up everything beforehand. Nest is to go ahead and set up your decor in your home or wherever is available to you. Open everything up, test them, make sure nothing is defective or damaged, and make sure all the elements you envision are cohesive. If there is a difficult assembly that you’ll need someone else to handle on wedding day, assemble it first yourself and write instructions out for them. 3. Next is to take a picture! Once you have set up the entire vignette, take a picture for your decorator to use as a reference. For everything! 4. The next step is to create a decor list. In a word or google doc, create a decor list. Use your pictures to show the setup and underneath list all the items needed to create the vignette. You may also need to cross-reference this with a floor plan so the decorator knows where everything goes in the venue. When you pack the items up, group them together for each vignette. 5. Go to the venue with your decorator and physically show them where it all goes. Have a copy of your decor list with you and show them each location.
