Trial, error, refine, repeat. I've been using 7 mil mylar stencil material as it is only about $1 per sheet, is able to be cut on a Cricut machine, is able to hold-up to aggressive blasting in my current sandblasting set-up (80 psi and 3 mil (30 grit) media), and allows me to experience weaknesses in the process. As time goes on I will modify my blasting setup in various ways, use different stencil material (with adhesive backing), and use wider-line fonts. In this video I have several "lessons learned" relating to each of the core steps. Enjoy!
