While a handful of conferences have been hurt by recent moves in the college sports world, Conference USA has a claim to be the division one FBS conference that has been hurt the most. The thing is, they've been here before---and survived. Now built up of New Mexico State, UTEP, Sam Houston State, Louisiana Tech, Jacksonville State, Florida International, Kennesaw State, Middle Tennessee State, Western Kentucky, and Liberty, the conference appears to be set on surviving and advancing to whatever college sports looks like next. They're no strangers to this position. Follow along as we investigate some of the moves that led Conference USA to where they are today, from their origins as a merger between the Metro and Great Midwest Conferences in 1995 to the present day.
