Beating JGTC GT300 Cars with 260hp AE86 (Gran Turismo 2)

This challenge took a weekend of practice to nail down. GT300 Championship is one of Gran Turismo 2's most intense events, especially if your car is evenly-matched against the AI. Race 1 at Grand Valley East in particular is a wake-up call, as the AI doesn't play around on this track. It's one of the few events where the AI cars are equipped with super soft tyres. They're extremely aggressive and disrespectful, and will shove you off your line constantly. It took hundreds of attempts to learn how the AI drives, and even then, they're very unpredictable. This wasn't a perfectly clean run, but I'm satisfied with how I predicted their movements. I had a few successful attempts recorded, and while this wasn't the fastest, it was definitely the most entertaining to watch. Usually the Impreza and RX-7 have a runaway lead, but the Silvia's were equally fast this time around. I also switched over to NTSC-U this time around for your 60 FPS viewing pleasure. A few months ago, GTPlanet user OG Turismo started a thread about this event and its difficulty, providing a list of cars they tested with mixed results. After doing my own testing, I found the Concept Car was able to win with only 249hp, but that doesn't really count since it's the best car in the game. I was surprised to find out that the AE86's were also able to compete with only 260hp, so I went with the Corolla Levin for this challenge. Music used: Madeleine - Daisuke Kawai Tunnel Visionary - Tetsukazu Nakanishi (from Ridge Racer PSP) South Side - Daisuke Kawai I played NTSC-U GT2 on DuckStation with 60 FPS, 16:9 and metric conversion codes.
