Ok I'm almost done with these...so I say lmao, I literally have to force myself not to relisten to the soundtrack or else I will be tempted to arrange more. This is the theme that plays in the monastery after a certain event happens, and it is appropriately sad and wistful. Naturally, I fell in love with it immediately lol. The original has a lot of sustained synths and strings, so the challenge here was creating that expanse using the natural resonance of my piano. It was actually much harder to execute than I thought it would be; it is basically pedaling and voicing HELL, the melody switches a lot from top to middle to bottom, and pedaling was tricky to work out because you don't want to change the chords too soon since you need that sustained vibe throughout, so there was a lot of half-pedal and flutter pedal etc. Anyways I hope it works. I really like all of the monastery themes, they're some of my favorites. I have Chasing Daybreak and A Funeral of Flowers coming up, and working on writing Between Heaven and Earth, and I'm capping it there I swear NO MORE THREE HOUSES AFTER THAT and I can release the album finally!
