Punch-Out!! (Wii) Playthrough Part 7

In this part, we begin doing the Challenges for the boxers. We complete all the challenges for Contender Glass Joe, Von Kaiser, Disco Kid, King Hippo, Piston Hondo, Bear Hugger, Great Tiger, and Don Flamenco. Glass Joe's challenges aren't hard at all, however, trying to make him win by decision is tedious. Knock down Glass Joe twice in Round 1, then knock him down again in either Round 2 or Round 3. Have Glass Joe knock you down three times throughout the match (but not three times in one round), then just wait for the match to end if you have less HP than him. If he has less than you, let him beat you up more. Von Kaiser's challenges are no biggie. Knowing that Star Punching him while he's cowering in fear will OHKD him is really useful. Disco Kid, again, isn't too big of a problem. His delayed left hook ("Here it comes!") is kind of tough to get a Star off of, but he's no problem otherwise. Remember that both of his taunts give you a Star and count as different methods for getting 5 different Stars. You can get all of King Hippo's Challenges done in one match. To beat him without using any jabs, rely solely on Star Punches obtained by blocking his jabs. You can use a hook on him as he does his double slam attack to knock off his crown. Doing it again immediately afterwards instantly knocks him out. Not getting tired is a piece of cake, too. Piston Hondo's Challenges can all be done in one run. His two instant knockdowns include Star Punching him while he's bowing and countering his Hondo Rush. Try to get his bow OHKD early, because he rarely bows later on. You have a lot of hearts, so it's hard to have less than 34. As for landing every punch.. just land every punch. Rely on his OHKDs and counters for more Stars. Bear Hugger's challenges could also all be done during one match. Keep in mind that countering any of Bear Hugger's moves with a Star Punch will knock him down instantly. Getting Stars off his moves can be tricky, specifically his Bear Hug. You have to jab him in the face earlier than you'd expect to (in the middle of him saying "hug"). Evading his Bear Hugs is no problem, but if you want to get a Star from it, I'd recommend just doing it once, then avoiding them normally otherwise. Great Tiger's Challenges are a bit tricky. Dodging his Rushing Magic Attacks are easy, but TKOing him in three punches means that you have to counter each of his Rushing Magic Attacks perfectly. He'll always send his double out first during the second one, so just let it fly through you before hitting the real deal. KOing him with just right jabs isn't hard, just super tedious and annoying. Don Flamenco's Challenges can be tough to newcomers. If you know his infinite combo though, he's a joke. For the "3 or less punches" Challenge, Keep using it until you knock him down two times, then continue to do it again until his health reaches the "N" in "ROUND", and finish him off with a Three-Star Punch. For the toupée, do the same thing as before, but don't hit him with the Star Punch until it comes off. Getting Stars off him is really easy. Every single one of his attacks will give you a Star when countered. His three-hook attack will give you a Star if you hook him once he's exhausted from punching if you avoid him each time.
