The Hamstrings are the three posterior thigh muscles. Little known fact, they get the name "Hamstrings" because butchers hang the ham by their tendons. They are the main knee flexors. The Gastrocnemius and Soleus are not the only lower leg muscles, however for this video, those are the ones I'm addressing. Gastrocnemius is known as the dancer's muscle because it assists ballerinas to stand on their toes.
