Morecambe Ribble Running Day - Sunday 21st May 2023

On Sunday 21st May 2023, we visited Morecambe for the annual Ribble buses running day, organised by the Ribble Vehicle Preservation Trust who, as usual, delivered an absolutely fantastic day aided by the glorious weather peaking at 21C in the early afternoon. Stagecoach Cumbria turned out yet another superbly painted double decker - this time 18324 (MX05WHS) in Lancaster City Transport's final livery from 30 years ago when the operation became part of the Stagecoach empire after its untimely demise. Last year's superbly finished 10030 in NBC RIBBLE poppy red still looks amazing and was also on parade along with Carlisle's 10015 in Coronation livery. One of the new lakes buses was also demonstrated at Morecambe Football Ground. Many other buses from Ribble and other operators took part all beautifully turned out and we have tried to capture most of what was there. Two former Fishwick's Leyland National 2s unfortunately evaded our camera. This was an absolutely superb day out and worthy of huge accolades to both RVPT and Stagecoach and we look forward to more glorious weather and another great day out in 2024.
