Billie Eilish - Bad Guy // Amy Turk, Harp & Electric Harp

I wrote this arrangement for students to learn about playing pop, and harp percussion. ► Sheet Music https://www.musicnotes.com/l/KjjJX ► iTunes   / bad-guy-single   Audio track available via Spotify, iTunes, Apple Music, Google Play, Amazon, Pandora, Deezer, Tidal, Microsoft Groove, MediaNet, Saavn, ClaroMusica and more. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ► Patreon http://bit.ly/amyturkpatreon ► PayPal donations http://bit.ly/amyturkdonate ► Facebook http://bit.ly/amyturkfb ► Instagram http://bit.ly/amyturkinsta ► Twitter http://bit.ly/amyturktweets ► Website http://bit.ly/amyturkharp ----------------------------------------------------------------------- It's a funny story, how I first discovered Billie Eilish. At the start of the year I dyed the tips of my hair a nice loud green on a whim, and then in March (before lockdown started) I was playing at an open day for a wedding venue, and someone came up to me to chat and commented, "oh I really like your hair, it reminds me of Billie Eilish!" At the time I had heard of her just from seeing interviews and things appear online, but I hadn't heard her music, so at that point I thought, let's find out what this is all about then... turns out, I absolutely loved it! And it was all because I fancied dying my hair green. Life is full of surprises. Earlier this year I was commissioned to write a pop arrangement of Bad Guy for RNCM Young Harps, which is a youth project run by the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, UK, that provides workshops several times a year for harpists between the ages of 5 and 18. The arrangement was scheduled to be workshopped and performed at the Edinburgh Harp Festival, a big event in the UK Harpist's calendar, but sadly that was cancelled due to Covid-19, so RNCM's wonderful Head of Harp, Eira Lynn Jones, approached me with a new idea - to create a video workshop for students based around my arrangement. I made this music video especially so that workshop participants could play along with me from home, and also to (hopefully!) show young harpists that the harp can sound like all sorts of things, not just the traditional things I came to expect from the harp when I was growing up. You can check out my workshop for Young Harps on Facebook if you want to learn more about how I arrange and use percussive effects: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=542... Every element of this audio recording was created with harps, and has been treated with real time effects processing - so in theory this arrangement could be performed live (if you had 4-5 players available to perform together - here's hoping that can happen someday in the not-too-distant future!). This video also marks a milestone for me as my first video featuring the Delta Harp, made by Salvi, my first purely electric harp! I really think the sound of the two harps blends well together - what do you think?
