'Why? Saama' - Schools show on Gender Parity

Come and meet Saama - a little girl who loves to collect questions wherever she goes. From the simple to the profound, her questions bring to light the social norms of Sri Lanka and challenge the adults around her to question the value of the standards we impose on girl and boy children growing up in Sri Lanka today. Performed by finger, hand and giant puppets accompanied by clowning, mime and original live music, 'Why? Saama' is a show that aims to generate important dialogue around the issues of gender, self confidence and the courage to face your own fears to grow in to your full giant potential. Produced and performed by Power of Play PVT LTD, supported by the 'Voices and Choices' grant of British Council and partnered by Dilmah, Merrill J Fernando Charitable Foundation and Compania Pirata.
