Lessons 1-25 of reading and writing are available on our website (https://www.chaiandconversation.com/r.... By the end of the course, you will be able to read and write in the Persian language. We also have over 80 lessons that teach you conversational Persian (https://www.chaiandconversation.com/l.... In those lessons, we use phonetic English spelling, so you don't have to be able to read and write Persian before learning to speak it conversationally! In this lesson, we learn several new letters, ح، چ، خ and ج. These letters all have the same base, and are only distinguished by the number of dots they have. They make the following sounds: ح sounds like hé، خ sounds like khé, چ sounds like ché and ج sounds like jé. These letters all have the same base, and are only distinguished by the number of dots they have (or in the case of ح by the dots they don't have). After learning these letters, we focus on the letter خ .خ is the other sound (in addition to ق) in the Persian language that does not exist in the English language. We learn how it interacts with our vowel sounds, and learn how to use it to spell several words, including: خَر khar (donkey) خوک khook (pig) خِرس khers (bear)
