It enhances Safety and Precision in Operations. Point and Speak made a big contribution to the ZERO ACCIDENT PERFORMANCE SINCE INCEPTION IN 1964 FOR Shinkansen (Bullet Train) operations. It could also be called Shisa Kanko in Japanese. the driver is shown in the second part of his video pointing to the time table in front of him. It shows the time that the train must adhere to in reaching and departing from stations.
