As the main to way battle and capture Pokemon, encounters are the backbone of the Pokemon series. Our future companions are hiding somewhere out in the tall grass, and its our duty to go and find them. But over the years, Pokemon has played and experimented with its formula for encounters in some really fun and unique ways- giving way to lots of unique gameplay and mechanics. Wild Pokemon come from all ways of life! Today we dive head first into that experimentation as we look back on some of the great and unusual ways we can go about the process- untraditional encounters in Pokemon are truly a breath of fresh air.
