Half-Life 2: Episode Two - 07 - T-Minus One [Hard]

Chapter 7: T-Minus One With the Combine assault on White Forest successfully repelled, Gordon returns to the base. With the Superportal close to becoming active, the launch must be successful if humanity is to survive and avoid another full-scale Combine invasion. At the same time, Alyx has prepared a chopper for her and Gordon to get to the Borealis and save Judtih, in the final chapter of the Half-Life 2 saga. Playlist with all completed chapters:    • Half-Life 2: Episode Two - Full Playt...   Notes: - SPOILERS FOR HALF-LIFE: ALYX FOLLOWS: - The ending of this game has been slightly retconned by the events of Half-Life: Alyx - G-man orchestrates a plan to have a 5-year younger Alyx Vance save Eli from the Advisor, which results in Eli being kept alive but results in the disappearance of Alyx in exchange - After the game cuts to black, it can be assumed that Gordon passes out for a bit before being woken up by a now resurrected Eli, tying in to the post-credits scene of Half-Life: Alyx Trivia: - The area at 0:10 is the same area Magnusson takes Gordon through to introduce him to the Magnusson Device, though it seems that all the devices have now been used up in the supply room - Alyx's comment at 0:43 is a callback to Magnusson's comment one chapter prior, when he says "Well what are you waiting for Freeman, a hug?" if Gordon does not descend the launch tube to investigate the secondary silo alarm - Kleiner's comment at 2:14 seems to indicate that Lamarr has been unintentionally left inside the rocket, and that she weighs 8-1/2 lbs - This is Freeman's second time launching a rocket (3:05), the first being the satellite delivery rocket in the chapter "On A Rail" in Half-Life 1. Coincidentally, the rocket that he launches in this chapter is supposed to sync up with the satellite he launched in HL1 to transmit the data - If Freeman does not push the launch button, Magnusson will audibly grow increasingly impatient - The last appearance of Kleiner and Magnusson to date in a Half-life game at 4:40 - The hangar bay at 6:43 was completely recreated in Source 2 in Half-Life: Alyx - If one were to use noclip and explore the outside of the hangar bay, the two Advisors that attack can be seen in idle mode just past the windows that they break through later. Shooting the Advisors enough times "kills" them and breaks the scripting of the ending sequence if the player decides to go back to the elevator afterwards - The ending of this game initiated a 13 year cliffhangar that was finally addressed in Half-Life: Alyx - In August 2017, Mark Laidlaw, writer of the Half-Life series released a post on his website titled "Epistle 3". The post essentially tells the story of what he had envisioned for the plot of the still-to-be-released (or never-to-be-released) Half-Life 2: Episode Three, without directly referencing the events of the previous games (for instance, in the post Eli Vance is instead referred to as Elly Vaunt. With the release of Half-Life: Alyx, Epistle 3's plot is now non-canon, though a fan project called "Project Borealis" aims to develop an imagiining of Episode Three based on Laidlaw's writings. The post itself can be found here: https://www.marclaidlaw.com/epistle-3/ - As confirmed in the e-book "The Final Hours of Half-Life: Alyx", killing off Eli was Gabe Newell's idea
