Brindavani Thillana: Bharatanatyam vs. Kuchipudi

Brindavani Thillana: Bharatanatyam vs. Kuchipudi, performed to Dr. M. Balamuralikrishna’s composition that is popular among musicians as well as classical dancers. Here the dancers perform Brindavani Thillana highlighting the similarities and differences between two prominent Indian classical dance genres, Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi. Nuances of the Nritta and Abinaya in the two dance forms are brought out by the dancers Shyama Iyer (Bharatanatyam) and Sahiti Rachakonda (Kuchipudi) through the depiction of the playful encounters of Krishna and Radha. The music for this piece is from the IndianRaga Fellowship Production Brindavan Thillana by Sarvesh Karthick, Madhu Iyer, Niveditha Arun, Aditya Vinod, Saigovind Vijayaraghavan and Sri Poornima Krishna Emani.
