Leo the Lion: Case of the Moonlight Stone

This is a complete episode of "Leo the Lion," the English title for Osamu Tezuka's 1966 Japanese animated series, "Jungle Taitei Susume Leo" (Jungle Emperor Forward Leo), which continued the adventures of Kimba the White Lion as a grown-up ruler of the jungle. The sequel was not shown in the U.S. until 1984 when the Christian Broadcasting Network ran it in in a newly dubbed version. It's actually quite an imaginative series, although the English dubbing is terrible. This episode, "The Case of the Moonlight Stone," is filled with action as it follows a group of spies into the jungle as they head for Mount Moon, the source of the powerful Moonlight Stones. The hero is British agent "Sterling Bond," who becomes allied with Leo as he fights off competing spies. There are a lot of absurd elements, including a remarkable case of racial impersonation, and more human characters than are usually found in these episodes.
