He just isn’t stopping! Nikka Sev returns for a hat-trick in the increasingly successful series, 'The Remix Sessions'. This time, he brings it back full circle, remixing a forgotten gem by Panjabi Folk legend, A.S. Kang, titled ‘Gidha Pao Kuriyo Remix’. The original song has been taken from the album, ‘Munda Tey Kuri’. This album was produced, performed and recorded in the UK and is very much a part of Kang’s discography. But unfortunately, the S. Mahendra produced album has been subject to being overshadowed over the years, as albums such as ‘Gidhian Di Raniye Ni Gidhe Vich Aa’, ‘Main Aashiq Tera’ and ‘Flash Back’ have taken the title of being Kang’s career defining works. The original song was again written by the legendary Harbans Jandu, who everyone has grown to know and love by his writing alias - Jandu Littranwala. “I chose this song and album in particular because it wasn't as popular as the other albums he created, with the hope that it will reignite its significance for Panjabi music fans, especially considering it was all UK made.” - Nikka Sev The previous two instalments from the series have proven to the world that Nikka is more than capable of revamping the classics with clear respect to the original masterpieces, only overlaying new elements that enhance the originals in a constructive manner. ‘Gidha Pao Kuriyo Remix’ is no different.
