Rough, overgrown tracks on Mass Coastal Watuppa Branch - 6/2024

In this video we follow Mass Coastal train MC-4 down the Watuppa Branch in New Bedford and Dartmouth, MA. With the summer almost here the adjacent brush is now encroaching on the right of way and that is evident in this video. The line was acquired in December 2023 when MC purchased the Bay Colony Railroad . The track is rough from years of minimal maintenance by previous owners Penn Central, Conrail, and CSX who eventually handed off this part of the line to Bay Colony in the early 2000's. BCLR was able to fix up some of the track during their ownership but it was still far off from the level and straight track of the mainlines.
