Mix Process: Nashville Tracks!

In this video, I try to do a walk-through of my process specifically with this one artist who is having tracks sent up from Nashville studios, and then recording, vocals, mixing, and mastering here at Hopetown. This video is somewhere in between instructional and advertising.  One thing I don't discuss in the video that I'd like to make a future video about is the overall differences between how analog and plug in processing effects audio.  Having both available I feel like I've gotten a pretty good picture of the strengths of each.  Beyond recall and automation there's some thing about plug-ins that has a tighter sound, but also smaller.  And I have artist who do you choose the plug-ins over the analog gear.  What you see in this video is my process which is trying to use the best of both.  The one piece of gear that was not featured in the video is our 4 BAE 73 EQs. These are in the rack to the right of the API. I love these EQs.  I imagined people will have some comments about better ways to import tracks lol.  In this particular case it's fastest and easiest to make sure that I'm getting the tracks to the pre-assign channels because the mix was basically already done.  If I wasn't doing it with one hand and explaining it as I was going, it's actually a very fast process.
