Re-recorded completely with the exception of David Gilmour's guitar solo (Gilmour refused to take part in The Wall film), The lyrics were rewritten by Roger and changed into a more narrative-oriented style to work as film music (Example: "Is it just a waste of time?" became "Am I really dying?") When the film adaptation of The Wall was made, James Guthrie (Sound/Music director) had to remix many of the songs from the album and some had to even be rerecorded (In The Flesh, Mother, etc) Fans treat this as a brand new version of the album and most have recorded a "Soundtrack" using the DVD.
