We will be flying over the breached berm near the blue lagoon and power plant. This is day 23 of the eruption which began at approximately 12:45pm local time on May 29, 2024 when a new fissure opened up in the Sundhnúk crater row. This eruption has so far covered over 9sq km and has released over 40 million cubic meters of lava onto the moss-covered plains of the Reykjanes Peninsula.
