[LIVE WR] ESWC B-7 - 14.47

Former WR is 14.48 by shambo777 (+0.01) driven on 15th June 2012.    • TmNations ESWC B-7 14.48 by shambo777...   Yes, shambo's run really stood as the WR on this track for more than 12 years. It is the same run as the one I am driving against in the live footage, so no comparison this time around since the live footage also acts as a comparison for this video. TMX link: https://nations.tm-exchange.com/track... Well, look who's back! Yeah, that's right! After more than half a year of not touching this game at all, I finally decided to come back. The fact that I am almost done with my study year also helps, I suppose. I had no intention of ever driving a TrackMania WR again in my life, but life has its ways sometimes I guess. I felt like playing a simple Nadeo map where I knew that my PB was improvable, just for the sake of it. As it turned out, B-7 perfectly fit this description. I already had a .50 PB, but I knew I could improve it. Fast forward, I quickly drive a .49, I am not satisfied with it; I go for a .48 to tie the WR, and then proceed to completely skip that benchmark by sniping the WR with a .47. About the map: This track has seen very few WRs during its 18-year long life. From December 2007 to June 2024, there were only four different WRs set on this track: 14.51 by Lech (December 2007), 14.50 by shambo777 (June 2008), 14.48 by shambo777 (June 2012) and 14.47 by me (June 2024). This is simply because this map is stupidly simple, there are barely any points whatsoever where you can gain more speed than the WR. This map starts with a simple straight line, followed by a sharp right turn and a wobbly section. In order to properly cross that section while maximizing speed, you need to start the right turn late and, once you get to the first wobble, immediately countersteer to the left to both straighten your car and also force a nosedive. If you did that right, the 1st landing will force another smaller nosedive, which will help you land smoothly on the second wobble and keep maximum speed. That's the hardest part of the map. From there, you take the following two left-hand turns as tight as possible without touching the wall or triggering a rammbug. The last part is yet another transition after the left turn. As you can see, me and shambo had different lines for this transition, with my line being the superior one. You have to go as much to the right of the track as possible, cross the black rammbug line to force a small nosedive, then land in the middle of the road without airbraking. If you did that right too, you should get the maximum possible speed from that part too. That part was actually what made me cross the finish line before shambo, I was on par with him on every other part. Once you cross that transition too, all that's left is to follow the straight line and jump as tightly as possible into the finish. A very easy map compared to other Nadeo creations, which makes sense taking into account that this is a B track after all. It's hard to say how many hours I spent on this map. Something like 15-20 hours in total, I think? I don't know for sure since I've played this map on and off for so many years... A .45 or .44 should be possible with perfect driving. I can't see any possibility of a lower time on this map using the intended route.
